Celebrate the Union of Jason and Emily

Our Story

Jason, a small-town Iowa guy turned Boston professional, sought a change of pace in 2021 by moving to Colorado for its blend of suburban charm and mountain views.

Meanwhile, Emily, born in Colorado to Iowa natives, had spent formative years in Des Moines, where her family formed a lasting connection with Jason's through his cousin. Though Emily's family later returned to Colorado, the bond between Emily's mom and Jason's Aunt persisted, who remained close friends for over 25 years.

Fate intervened when Jason's cousin visited Colorado over the summer of 2023. During their weekend exploring Denver and visiting family, he suggested lunch with his friend, Emily and sister. The lunch proved pivotal. Despite meeting for the first time, Emily was immediately captivated by Jason, and he, in turn, found himself drawn to her.

Despite the mutual attraction, the lunch was primarily a reunion between Jason's cousin and Emily. However, Emily, with a touch of ingenuity, asked for his number, citing a need for Jason to send her the lunch photos. Their subsequent conversation about Jason's kittens and Emily's veterinary work revealed a shared love for animals.

Jason, somewhat tentatively, invited her to see his kittens sometime.

To his surprise, Emily responded with an enthusiastic, "How about Saturday?" Their first date, and the days that followed, solidified their connection, proving that a chance encounter, rooted in shared history and family bonds, could blossom into a lasting love. ❤️

Yes, there is parking available at the wedding venue. Carpooling might be easier and more fun though.

Estes Park offers an unforgettable experience through its proximity to the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountain National Park, abundant wildlife viewing opportunities, and charming downtown atmosphere. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Altitude Estes Park is at a high elevation. Take it easy on your first day to acclimatize. Drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness.

  • Sun Protection The sun is strong at high altitude. Use sunscreen, wear a hat, and sunglasses.

  • Wildlife Estes Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elk, deer, bears, and mountain lions. Keep a safe distance from all wildlife and never feed them.

  • Hiking: If you plan on hiking, choose trails that are appropriate for your fitness level. Inform someone of your hiking plans and carry a map, compass, and plenty of water. Be aware of potential hazards, such as sudden weather changes and uneven terrain.

I hope so!!! We picked this date due to the Pythagorean triple, but also:

  1. September is the sunniest month in Estes Park
  2. Temperatures should be on the cool side of warm—perfect for suits and dress clothes.
  3. It's elk season! Elk come down in the fall and can be spotted from August to November!

So much! We were hoping this to be a destination wedding—and for people to spend some time in the mountains.

Here are some things to do:

  • Explore Rocky Mountain National Park Hike scenic trails like the accessible Bear Lake loop, or the moderately challenging Emerald Lake Trail, known for its stunning alpine lakes.
